Services for Wayne King, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drive with burial in Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery. The Revs. Mike DuBose, Mack Massey and Rich Balkcom will officiate.
Visitation is Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. King, 68, died Jan. 12, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Vicksburg on May 3, 1941, to Daniel Boyce King and June Lockhard Collins.
He was a car inspector with Illinois Central Railroad. Mr. King also served in the U.S. Army with military police in Germany. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Pat Collins.
Survivors are his stepmother, Ruby King, of Hazlehurst; a son, Jeff King and wife, Angie, of Brookhaven; a daughter, Kellye Sicks and husband, Doug, of Brookhaven; his brothers, Kenny King, of Rayville, La., Mike Collins, of Vicksburg, Mark Collins, of Memphis, Tenn., Danny King, of Hazlehurst, Ronnie King, of Plano, Texas, and Paul Collins, of Santa Cruz, of Calif.; his sisters, Sharon Phillipi, of Bay Minette, Ala., and Donna Mary Hamby, of Stapleton, Ala.; his four grandchildren, Jillian and Ian Sicks and Aaron and Jonah King.
Pallbearers are Scott Jerome, Buddy Vinzant, Nikki Cothern, Mel Steinhower, Rex Phillipi and Christopher Phillipi.
Honorary pallbearers are Harold Reid, Boots Hawkins, Roy Nations, Del Roy Smith and John Coffman.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis.
