Winnie Florine Burns Gill, 97, of Brookhaven passed away on January 11, 2025. She was born in Lincoln County on August 10, 1927 to Joseph Leon Burns and Iris Strickland Burns.

She was deputy circuit clerk for many years. After leaving office, she worked at Protective Service Insurance Company.

She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lennie Jones (Fred) and Ann Burns (Earl H.).

Survivors are her daughter, Cindy Hunter; niece, Beverly Simmons and nephews, Homer Burns and Joe Burns.
