Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Oscar Boyte will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Easthaven Cemetery. Bro. Herbert Barnett and Bro. Tim Bedwell will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Mr. Boyte, 76, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on April 28, 1944, in Brookhaven, MS, to Oscar Boyte and Mary Jackson Boyte. He attended Brookhaven Church of God. He and wife Carole owned and operated  The Fish Fry in Brookhaven, MS for 32 years. Mr. Wayne enjoyed his gospel quartet, Southern Praise. He considered this to be his ministry through song. Upon retirement, he enjoyed RVing and his "toys". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents Oscar and Mary Boyte; sister Polly and husband Lee Roy Smith; brother Denver and wife Cecelia Jackson.

Survivors are his wife, Carole Higginbotham Boyte; sons, Tony Boyte and wife Judy, Bennie Ashby and wife Lorie, and Kenneth Boyte and wife Kathy, all of Brookhaven, MS; sister, Shirley Martin and husband Charles; 8 grandchildren;  7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
