Tony Lamar King, 65, of Brookhaven, MS passed away on July 19 in Jackson, MS. Tony was born on July 8, 1961, in Monticello, MS to Lonnie Jefferson King and Laura Jane Lambert King.
The family will receive visitors at Brookhaven Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 23. Funeral services will be held at East Lincoln Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, with visitation from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and graveside services following in the East Lincoln Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tony was the youngest of nine and beloved by all of his siblings. Tony attended Enterprise School and became a member of the East Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department. Tony loved movies, country music, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, the North Carolina Panthers, the New Orleans Saints, Mississippi State football, and spending time with his large extended family. Tony had a perpetually sunny personality and lived joyfully; he never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. In recent years, Tony was a resident of Haven Hall Health Care Center, where he enjoyed taking part in various activities, most especially karaoke.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Laura Jane King; his brothers Robert Lee King and Claude Edward King; and his sisters Margie Olline King Jones and Claudine King Fuller.
Tony is survived by five brothers: Lonnie J. King, Jr., Eugene King, Larry F. King, Darryl King, and Raymond King; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as many loving friends.
