Funeral services for Tawana H. Boyd will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Thomas Wicker and Bro. T.C. Kinney will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Ms. Tawana Herring Boyd,72, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Southwest MS Medical Center with her loving family by her side.  She was born on August 14, 1949, in Brookhaven, MS, to Leroy and Katie Sue Herring. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Ms. Boyd worked for many years in industrial sales.

Tawana had an eternal green thumb. She always enjoyed growing and keeping up her flowers and landscaping. A talented carpenter and do it yourselfer, she never saw a project to tough to tackle. Ms. Boyd was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and companion. The love that she gave and the determination in which she lived her life will truly be missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents Leroy and Katie Sue Herring and brother Leroy Herring Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory her are daughters Dana Woodward (Elmer) and Tamara Keene (Terry); sons John Boyd (Amber) and Brent Boyd (Shameka); brother Richard Herring (Brenda); 10 grandchildren, Jordan Sodrel (Steven), Madison Johnson, Anna Beth Johnson, Piper Keene, Hayden Boyd, Hannah Boyd, Bryson Boyd, Grant Keene, Jason Keene and Jayden Keene; life-long best friend Sherry Campbell; and a host of family and friends.
