Funeral services for Shirley Martin Goodson will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Sarepta Baptist Church, 1316 Sarepta Lane NW, Meadville, MS, 39653, with burial to follow in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Steve Sasser will be officiating the services, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charges of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5PM until 9 PM and continue at Sarepta on Wednesday, May 14, from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM.

Mrs. Goodson, 88, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at King's Daughters Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 10, 1937 to Fleming and Zella Nettles Martin. She enjoyed raising cattle, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 58 years, Jimmie Goodson. Survivors are her son, Ronnie Goodson of Byram, MS; daughters, Dewanna Williamson and husband Ike of Meadville, MS, and Cindy Jones and husband John of Florida; sisters-in-law, Barbara Freeman of McNair, MS and Nina Granger and husband Marlin of Brookhaven, MS; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
