Graveside services for Mrs. Ruth Warren Prather will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM. Bro. Rich Balkcom will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM till 11:00 AM at the graveside on Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Prather, 88, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS.  She was born on September 8, 1933, in Brookhaven, MS, to Olian Britt and Lila Jane Smith Britt. She was a member of Southway Baptist Church. Ruth worked for many years for Dr. Brown and Dr. Crawford at their clinic and she also worked at a nursing home for many years. She loved to crochet and gave most of it away. She also loved to cook and take the food to shut-ins and the sick.

Preceding her in death were her parents Olian and Jane Britt; husbands, Earl Warren and Louie Prather; sister Mary Lee May and brother J. C. Britt.

Survivors are her sister Shirley Sandifer; son Carl Wayne Warren; and nieces and nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.
