Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth L. Myers will be on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Billy Joe Deer, Bro. Ryan Thurman and Bro. Nick Hodges will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Myers, 91, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  She was born on March 22, 1928, in Bogue Chitto, MS, to Van and Clara Johnston Leggett. She was a member of Union Hall Baptist Church but in recent years attended Central Baptist Church; worked for many years as a sales clerk at J C Penny's and owned Ruth's Shoe Gallery in Brookhaven, MS; and enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Clifton Linton, Marvin Smith, and Robert Myers; sons, Charles Howard Linton and George Earl Linton, Sr.; siblings, Buddy Leggett, Rayford Leggett, Shirley Leggett Harris, Junie Bell Miller, and Frank Leggett; and great-grandson, Justin Linton.

Survivors are her daughters-in-law, Linda Linton and Ethelene Starrett both of Brookhaven, MS; siblings, Emma Jane Hoggatt of Brookhaven, MS, Clara Nell Walton of Franklinton, LA, and Mary Lou Auvil of Clinton, AR; grandchildren, David Linton, George Linton Jr., Frank Linton, Phyllis Linton, and Kim Sipes;  7 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
