Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Smith Rippy will be on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Harris Rawls Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Bro. Wendell Davis will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Mrs. Rippy, 91, of Summit, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 12, 1926 in Franklin County, MS, to James A. and Hettie R. Smith. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, playing bingo and spending time with all her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Billy Joe Rippy; 5 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Survivors are her daughter, Cathy R. Oliver and husband Kenneth of Summit, MS; grandchildren, Jill Case and husband Dustin of Loyd Star, MS and Samuel Lewis of Brookhaven; great grandchildren, Haze, Charli, and Bently Case, Harlee Davis, and Jordan and Madi Lewis; great great grandchild Karson McKay and a host of family and friends.
