Graveside services for Mr. Robert Lee Nelson will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Nations Family Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS at 11 AM. Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nelson, 84, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, July 6, 2018, at his residence. He was born on August 31, 1933 in Silver Creek, MS, to Homer Nelson and Mary Lou Sills. He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 59 years, Peggy Sue Nelson; his parents, Homer and Mary Lou Nelson; and his daughter in law, Rose Nelson; his nieces, Kathy Ann Dunaway and Sandra Louise Slocum; brothers-in-law Sam Slocum and Jerry Stamps.

Survivors are his son Dale Nelson; granddaughter, Christy Baker; great grandchildren, Cody Baker, John Andrews, and Katelyn Andrews; his sister, Mary Kathryn Slocum; his nephew, Daniel Slocum and Bubba Stamps; niece Rhonda Stamps; his great nephews, Jance Dunaway, Matt Dunaway, Dylan Slocum, and Drake Slocum; his great nieces, Katie Dunaway and Gabby Slocum; his great great nephew, Maverick Dunaway, his great great nieces, Hailey Bowman and Ashlyn Bowman; sister-in-law Maudie Stamps and close family friends Gloria Vanison, Keyerika Williams and Ronald and Liz Dugas.
