Mr. King, 86, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. He was born in Lincoln County on August 25, 1939, to James Hiram King and Dixie Della Dykes King.
He was a lifelong and faithful member of Bethel Community Church. He loved the outdoors – especially fishing, hunting, and tending his cows and garden. He was a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, he loved his family; he was a devoted and loving husband to Mary, his wife of 51 years. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren; "Paw Paw Robert," as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Case King; three brothers, James King, W.O. King, and Oliver King; and four sisters, Maudena King, Lottie Mae Tibbs, Ruby Williams, and Liz Lambert.
Survivors include his children; Cameron King (Sheila), Kevin King (Sonya), Lisa Wicker (Mark), and Lori Rushing (Ben); nine grandchildren, Dana Belanger (Ryan), Logan King (Stephanie), Kayla Hunsucker (Nick), Nathan Wicker (Natalie), Seth Wicker, Adam Rushing, Henry Rushing, Tori King, and Mary Beth Rushing; eight great-grandchildren, Ty, Brett, Kali, Conner, Zoey, Emma, Scott, and Jase; and a great-great grandchild, Kasen. He also leaves behind one sister, Helen Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to offer a thank you to the staff of Silver Cross Home and Arden Hospice for their devoted and compassionate care.
