Funeral services for Robert E. Allgood, Jr. will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Dr. Garland Boyd will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mr. Allgood, 84, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 25, 1934, in Lincoln County, MS, to Robert E. and Hazel Durr Allgood. He was of the Baptist faith; worked for many years as a parts sales manager at the Chevrolet Dealership in Brookhaven, MS; and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Janie Allgood Watts and Audrey Nell Allgood Laird; and brothers, Thomas Harold Smith, and Clayton Allgood.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Agnes Smith Allgood; daughter, Debbie Allgood Britt and husband Daniel of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Jennifer Furlow and friend Bubba Bardwell, and Matt Furlow and wife Kacie; step-granddaughter, Morgan Britt Peagler and husband Dane; great grandchildren, Elyza Jo Furlow, Hazel Posey Furlow and Reed Matthew Furlow; brother, Mack Allgood of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Rodney Glenn Smith, Hillary Britt, Marty Smith, Tony Laird, Rusty Williams, Coonie Jordan, Edward Rushing and Kyle Allgood.
