Obituary

Funeral services for Rachel Ruth King Eitel will be on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Gum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. David Fortenberry will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Eitel, 83, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS. She was born on April 13, 1934, in Brookhaven, MS, to Floyd and Delia Smith King. She was a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church; was a retired seamstress from Auburn Sportswear in Brookhaven, MS; and enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and spending time with her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Floyd and Delia Smith King; husband, James A. Eitel; and granddaughter, Cheyene Lacota Prather.

Survivors are her daughter, Matilda Eitel and husband Kary Prather of Crystal Springs, MS; grandchildren, Andy Eitel and Siera Prather; sisters, Bernice King and Mary Dell Moak; and a host of family and friends.
