Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Prine Covington will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2024 with burial to follow in New Sight Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening, January 5, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Covington, 81, of Brookhaven, passed away on December 29, 2024. He was born in Nola, Mississippi on February 17, 1943 to J.C. Covington and Bobbie Prine Thames.

Mr. Prine was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; he also loved coaching Little League Baseball in his spare time. He had a passion for vehicles and worked for Nelms and then Sullivan Ford dealership for over 53 years; he was also a Master Mason in the Fair River Lodge Number 203.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-mother, Lexie W. Covington; and a step-sister, Ramona Case; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Sandra King Covington; two sons, Jeff Covington and his wife, Patty, of Wesson, MS, and Mike Covington and his wife, Robin, of Madison, MS; five grandchildren, Langston Berry, Alex Berry, Emily Covington, Sarah Covington, and M.J. Covington; and two great-grandchildren, Emrie and Avrie. He also leaves behind a brother, Mark Covington of Brookhaven; and two sisters, Cynthia Smith of Brookhaven and Judy Bounds of Natchez.
