Funeral services for Phillip Lee Wallace will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 7, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial following in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Brookhaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillip Lee Wallace left his temporary home on January 3, 2022, while holding the hand of our Lord. Phillip was born on October 7, 1953 to Mr. Buddy and Mrs. Sadie Wallace. He married his bride, Pamela on Aug. 31, 1979, they celebrated their love together for 43 amazing years. Phillip made sure their marriage was built on a strong foundation supported by God. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. At Calvary he led Children's Church for over 30 years. He touched countless youth with God's Love. He served the Lord always and shared his testimony with every person he met. He worked for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad as a train engineer where many knew him by the handle "Potlicker". He retired from there in 2005. Some of Phillip's most favorite things were: Hunting, just watching wildlife and nature, playing 27-36 holes of golf daily, and just loving the life God gave him.
Waiting for him at Heaven's gates were his son, Charlie Wallace, as well as his parents, Buddy and Sadie Wallace.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Pamela Wallace; his only daughter April Wallace Horn, her husband Jeremy, and his two Grandbabies, "Izzy" (Zoey Horn) and" Jewels" (Willow Horn), as he called them since birth.
Phillip's life revolved around his "Family", Pamela, April, Jeremy, Zoey, and Willow. He also leaves behind a host of golf buddies, church family, and friends. Additionally he leaves behind his sisters, Charlotte Laird and husband Robert, Amaryllis Leggett and Husband Andy, and Cindy King and husband Jarvis. He also leaves behind a huge crew of nephews, great nephews, nieces, great nieces, sisters-in-law, Peggy Stell, Jennie Wallace and Maryann Fauver, and brother-in-law, Donald Freeman. Another among favorites he leaves behind is his mother-in-law Mary Freeman.
He will be missed by his loyal golf buddies, loving church family and many many friends.
Pallbearers are: Hugh Laird, Brandon Tyler Welch, Joshua Banks, Hollis White, Joseph Hart, and Jeff Freeman.
