Funeral services for Dean Grimes will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Zach Smith will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Mr. Phillip Dean Grimes, 58, of Brookhaven, MS, completed his journey of this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side.  He was born on May 13, 1963, in Brookhaven, MS, to Robert Grimes and Bernice Farmer Grimes.

He worked for many years in the logging industry, some of his most cherished roles though came as husband of nearly 40 years to his wife, Debbie. And also as father to daughters Heather, Holly and Brittaney. But, his most prized role came as "Paw-Paw" and "Pete" to seven grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, and Brantly Pickett, Sam, Eli, and Ben Smith, and Blaze Bozeman.

Dean enjoyed any activities involving his grandchildren, riding horses, and witty remarks.

Preceding him in death are his father Robert Grimes; close mother-in-law Susie Wilson; brother-in-law and confidant Kellis Britt, and his "one true friend", Dalton Lofton.

Those left to treasure his memory are his wife, Debbie Grimes; his mother Bernice Grimes; daughters, Heather Grimes, Holly Smith (Zach), and Brittaney Bozeman (Ryan); grandchildren; siblings, Pam Gill and Bill Grimes; nieces and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of KDMC ER, and Deconess Hospice of Brookhaven for going above and beyond in aiding them in their time of need.
