Funeral services for Mr. Paul H. Gilbert will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson, MS, at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Stuart Givens will officiate the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Sylvarena on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Mr. Gilbert (Whynot), 75, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Friday, November 15, 2019, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS with his loving family by his side.  He was born on February 28, 1944, in Leake County, MS, to Watson and Sebbie Gilbert. He was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church; worked for many years as a truckdriver; and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He loved to have family get togethers where some country home cookin' was served.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 43 years, Emma Clara Gilbert; his brothers, Watson (Jr.) and Tony Gilbert; his sisters, Ruth Benson, Gertrude Brasher, Daisy Mae Arender; and his grandson, Justin Smith.

Surviving "Pepaw" are his son, Tony Mullen and wife Lisa of Wesson, MS; daughters, Teri Lynn Burkes of Cordova, TN, Dee Thornton, and Penny Jordan.  His step-daughters, Jan Smith and husband Tommy Joe, and Jean Janes and husband Frank; his step-son, Billy Wayne Mullen; his brother, Ray Gilbert; 14 grandchildren and 24  great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Paul's name to the Sylvarena Baptist Church.
