Funeral services for Mr. Paul Applewhite will be on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at New Hope United Methodist Church in the Loyd Star community at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Landon Smith will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at New Hope United Methodist Church from 1:00 PM until time of the service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Applewhite, 88, of Caseyville, MS, passed from this life on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born on June 9, 1930, in Lincoln County, MS, to Alfred "Jack" Applewhite and Pinkie Lea Applewhite. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and telling stories. Mr. Applewhite was an army veteran who served in the Korean War and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Billy Applewhite and A. D. Applewhite, Jr.

Survivors are his daughters, Bobbie Dunaway and husband Robbie of Jayess, MS and Lana L. Applewhite of Brookhaven, MS; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Mason, Francis Davis, and Alice Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
