Funeral services for Mrs. Para Lee Smith will be on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS at 11 AM, with burial to follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Chad Yarbrough will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will also be at Friendship Baptist Church on the same day from 9 AM until time of the service at 11 AM.

Mrs. Smith, 95, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Brook Manor Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 23, 1922 in Lincoln County, MS, to Geems Smith and Arcola Johnston Smith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Marrell Smith's Grocery. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS. She also was the last surviving member of the first graduating class of West Lincoln High School of 1939.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 51 years, Marrell Smith; an infant son; sisters, Velma Britt, Martell Byrd and Maude Smith; brother, Hugh V. Smith.

Survivors are her sons, Ronald M. Smith and wife Ann and Keith Smith and wife Sue, both of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Angie Barber and husband Glenn, Kevin Smith and wife Vanessa, Cassie Case and husband Karsten and Maggie Woolley and husband Clay; great grandchildren, Dalton Bridgers, Kaitlyn Barber, Peyton Barber, Kayla Maher, Teri Floyd , Austin Smith, Jacob Case, Kade Case, Layton Woolley and Macel Woolley; Great great grandchildren Thomas Floyd and Jake Maher; sisters Laverne Lea, Evelyn Smith, Kathryn Smart and Johnnie Jackson; and a host of family and friends.
