Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Nell Delancy Patterson Douglas will be on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Mission Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Rev. Andy Delancy, Rev. Mike Carr, and Rev. Wayne Moak will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be on the same day at Brookhaven Funeral Home from 12:00 AM until time of the service at 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Ola, 77, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, October 4, 2020, with her loving family by her side.  She was born on January 9, 1943, in Harrisville, MS, to Walter and Gladys Delancy. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church; worked for many years as a teacher at Loyd Star Elementary School; and enjoyed, gardening, her grandchildren, and attending area gospel singing events with her husband George. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, David E. Patterson II; sister, Stella Landrum; and brother, Ivan Delancy.

Survivors are her husband, George A Douglas; daughter, Rhoda Shirley and husband Dean of Wesson, MS; son, David E. Patterson III and Jeff of New Milford, CT; sister, Betsy Stewart of Carthage, MS; grandchildren, Ryan, Rebekah, and Elizabeth Shirley; step-children, Elva Mendoza, Bobie Douglas, and Ronnie Douglas; and a host of family and friends.
