Funeral services for Nolan "Buddy" Vinzant will be on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Brookhaven Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Bro. Tom McCormick and Bro. Robby Roberts will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM.

Mr. Vinzant, 84, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Monday, July 22, 2024 at UMMC in Jackson, MS. He was born on June 19, 1940 in Copiah County, MS to Woodrow Vinzant and Helen Keys Vinzant.

Buddy grew up in rural Copiah County. He graduated from Colin High School where he played football. After graduation, Buddy joined the Navy. After retiring from Noble Drilling Company he worked at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in maintenance. Buddy enjoyed fishing and spending time talking with friends. He was faithful to God and was active in his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Helen Vinzant; his first wife Lilian Vinzant and his second wife Joyce Vinzant; sisters Janie Sue Thornhill and Polly Coker; and brothers-in-law Buddy Coker and James Thornhill.

Survivors include his sister Lavanna Vinzant Lewis (Sonny); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren and friends; and special friends Danny and Ginger Brown.
