Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Noah Clinton Smith will be on Friday, September 13, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Garland Boyd will officiate the services. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, September, 2019, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Mr. Smith, 92, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Haven Hall Nursing Center with his loving family by his side.  He was born on March 20, 1927, in Monroe County, MS, to Charlie Smith and Lucille Boyd Smith.

Mr. Noah served his country in the Navy during WWII as a Fireman Second Class on the Princeton Battleship and in the Army as a Sergeant over a fleet of PT boats during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of and loved Macedonia Baptist Church and would do anything for his church and its congregation; worked for 36 years as a Plant Operator at Texas Eastern; and enjoyed working on cars and doing mission work for his church as a carpenter, plumber, or anything that was needed. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters, and his daughter-in-law, Anna Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Lela Ray Smith; his sons, Noah Clinton Smith, Jr. and Clark Smith, Sr; his daughter, Laurie Ann Myers and husband Keith Myers; his grandchildren, Daniel Trent Lane, Clark Boyd Smith, Jr., and Emilia Grace Smith; and a host of family and friends.
