Melvin Walters' Obituary
Mr. Walters, 86, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born on December 1, 1929, in Lincoln County, MS, to Alex and Courtney Johnson Walters. He worked for many years as a teacher and basketball coach, and later retired from Delphi Corporation as a Quality Control Engineer. He was a member of Moak's Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Alex and Courtney Johnson Walters; his wife of 57 years, Betty Lenard Walters; sister, Allie Walters Nettles.
Survivors are his daughter, Pam Walters Clark and husband Jamie of Bogue Chitto, MS; sister, Frances Walters Moak of McComb, MS; grandchildren, Britton Clark and wife Jennifer and Charla Clark Coley and husband Chase all of Bogue Chitto, MS; great grandchildren, Sam and Will Clark, and Harper Coley; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Vic Dacey, Mike Moak, James Moak, Chris Elkins, Matthew Elkins, and Brad Martin.
