Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Louise Gipson will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Gipson, 97, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at her residence in Holden, LA. She was born on January 15, 1920 in Wilmington, DE, to George and Ruth Leona Hoxworth Zimmerman. She was very close to her Christian family, especially those she worshipped with at Westchurch Church of Christ in Hammond, LA. As long as she was able, she sent notes of encouragement and made phone calls to her brothers and sisters in Christ, some as far away as Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Mississippi. Mrs. Gipson enjoyed painting, loved singing, and most of all, adored her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her. She had a sweet spirit and gentle soul.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 62 years, James W, "Bill" Gipson; and her sister, Rebecca Elizabeth Moore.

Survivors are her daughters, Ruth Gipson Wallace and Betsy Gipson Canfield; son, Bill Gipson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.
