Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Getwan Ratliff will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Catholic Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at the Church on Sunday, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Ratliff, 94, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital with her loving family by her side.  She was born on February 10, 1927, in Brookhaven, MS, to Fred and Katherine Getwan. She was a member and lifetime communicant of St. Francis Catholic Church; worked for many years as a nurse with Drs. Crawford and Brown, and Belk Ditcharo Dental; and enjoyed her family, cooking Sunday dinner and travel. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Norman A. (Buddy) Ratliff; children, Margaret Ratliff Smith and David E. Ratliff, Sr.; brothers, Fred Getwan and Nicholas Getwan; and sisters, Catherine Sheber and Margaret Barrett.

Survivors are her son, Norman A. Ratliff, Jr.; daughter, Jane Ratliff Smith (Doug); 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
