Obituary

Mary Sue Douglas, 79, was born in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi on April 6, 1944 and went to her heavenly home on May 25, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS after a brief illness.


Mary Sue was a loving daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She was retired from the US Forest Service and active in Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a faithful member of Northminster Baptist Church, where she was an active Caregiver, and a member of the Mary Foose Sunday School Class. Mary Sue loved to serve in the nursery and helped often in the Children's Ministry.


She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carl and Pauline Phillips Douglas, and her brother Gerald, whom she cared for throughout his life. She is survived by a host of cousins and friends who loved and adored her. They will cherish her kind smile, and deeply caring nature.


Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 31 at Northminster Baptist Church with a service to follow at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Bogue Chitto Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Northminster Baptist Church Pastors Benevolence fund, 3955 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211.
