Marshall Lane Smith of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, at the age of 75.  He was born July 29th, 1945, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Ann Weathersby Smith, sister, Jeanette Smith Bounds, sons Gregory and Steven, granddaughters, Brooklyn, Chloe and Rose, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey Lane Smith and Gertie Lou Tillotson Smith and sister Marcia Loraine Smith Townsend.

Marshall, a strong but very loving and helpful man who was loved by all who knew him, was a machinist by occupation and a cattle farmer who especially loved working with horses. He attended the Brookhaven branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Family and friends will be received at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, MS 39601 on Sunday, July 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. while his funeral service will be also be at Brookhaven Funeral Home Monday, July 26th at 2:00 with interment to follow at Easthaven City Cemetery.
