Mr. Anderson, 60, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on September 3, 2021, at home. He was born on March 11, 1961, in Chapel Hill, NC, to James William Anderson and Carroll Ann Wombacher Anderson. He was of the Presbyterian Faith. He enjoyed his church, travel and playing music.
Mr. Anderson graduated as the Valedictorian from Ponchatoula High School in Ponchatoula, LA. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University School of Engineering. He also studied Business Management Training at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England.
Mark was an executive in the telecommunications sector. While employed there, Mark lived and worked in several parts of the world including Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Former Soviet Union for almost 15 years. During that time he had the fortunate opportunity to work directly with a number of Ambassadors and heads of state in the course of securing major telephone network infrastructure projects. After rising through the management chain in the Fortune 500 corporate world working at Nortel Networks, he finally gave into his own entrepreneurial instincts and left at age 35 and established his own successful telecommunication company with office headquarters in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan that provided international satellite communication services to major U.S. and foreign oil and gas companies in the Caspian Sea region. He retired at age 50 and has been living quietly in Brookhaven, MS with his wife Dr. Shahla Fataliyeva-Anderson who he met while living in the Former Soviet Union.
Survivors are his wife Shahla Fataliyeva-Anderson; his parents James William and Carroll Ann Anderson; brother James Anderson; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his friends and family for their love and support.
