Funeral services for Major Houston "Buzz" Lea will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Hubert Greer will be officiating the service. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.


Mr. Lea, 80, passed from this life on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at his residence in Brookhaven, MS. He was born on January 19, 1936, in Lincoln County, MS, to Houston and Della Estelle Whiddon Lea. He worked for many years at McLane Sothern Wholesale in Brookhaven and was a retired fireman with the Brookhaven Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Houston and Della Estelle Whiddon Lea; and brother, Paul Lea.

Survivors are his sister, Jimmy Ruth Lea Fortenberry of Columbia, MS; brother, Hubert Lea and wife Helen Ruth of New Hebron, MS; special caregiver, Barbara Phillips; and a host of family and friends.
