Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Gene Wallace, Sr. will be on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11 AM with burial to follow in the Moak's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Bro. Jess Greer will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2017, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Mr. Wallace, 71, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at King's Daughters Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 15, 1946 in Bogue Chitto, MS, to Bailey Arthur Wallace and Daisy Phillips Wallace. He enjoyed farming and his grandkids and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Arthur "Pete" Wallace; and sisters, Grace Albrecht, Katie Ruth McCaffery, Georgia Franks, and Reaber Wallace.

Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Dorothy J. Bales Wallace; sons, Leonard G. Wallace, Jr. and wife Jennie, and Richard A. Wallace and wife Christy, all of Bogue Chitto, MS; daughter, Lisa W. Birdsong and Jesse of Union Church, MS; grandchildren, Joshua Wallace, Zachary Wallace, Carly Wallace, Dakota Wallace, Elizabeth Corkern, Matthew Birdsong, and Danielle Nelson; great grandchild, Makynzie Huckaby; brother, Bryant Wallace and wife Deborah; sisters, Elaine Allred and husband George and Betty Joe Murphree; and a host of family and friends.
