Memorial services for Larry Gene Russell will be on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 2 PM. Rev. Tommy Purvis will be officiating the services, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.


Mr. Russell, 69, passed from this life on Monday, May 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA with his loving wife by his side. He was born on April 4, 1947, in Bogalusa, LA, to Vernon Russell and Sarah Inez Williams Russell. He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks, working in his yard, and visiting and spending time with his friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Evonne Russell of Louisiana; sister, Linda Gail Allen and husband Jack; daughters, Lana Russell Swarts and Rhonda Rose Lambert, both of Brookhaven, MS; step-son, Douglas McCarty of Brookhaven, MS; 6 grandchildren, Carlie Brooke and husband Nathan Williams, Andrew Glenn Rose, Charles "Chas" Acy, Caleigh Elizabeth Acy, Savanna Kate Swarts, and Brianna Rae Swarts; 2 great grandchildren, Braxton James Huckaby and Rylie Brooke Williams; 2 nephews, Jason and Wesley Gill; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him dearly.
