LaNelle Marie Jackson, 94 of Brookhaven, MS passed away peacefully Monday, April 15, 2024 at her residence in Brookhaven, MS. She was born Saturday, December 14, 1929 in Lincoln County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brookhaven Funeral Home in 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, Mississippi. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Bro. Ryan Thurman will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-833-1441

Nell graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1948, and graduated from Whitworth College with an Associate's degree in 1950. She was introduced to her husband W.H. "Booty" Jackson of nearly 56 years by her best friend Peggy. She and Booty were married October 16, 1954. They spent two years building their beautiful brick home, in which Booty built the majority himself. Nell took a job at Trustmark Bank where she served for 28 years before retiring as Head Teller, with a break in the middle to care for her children while they were little. She and Booty adopted two children, Julie and Dean. She very much enjoyed being a mother and retired not long after her two granddaughters Tarah and Krissy were born, because she and Booty loved being grandparents even more. Nell enjoyed traveling with friends and family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and embroidery. She handmade lots of clothes, quilts, and pictures for her children and grandchildren. Nell loved making jellies and tomato relish, and she enjoyed being outdoors where she spent a great deal of her retirement tending to the beautiful daylilies in her yard. Nell became a great-grandmother not long before her husband Booty passed, and she spent a great deal of her last fourteen years traveling and spending time with her great-grandchildren Madison, Jaxson, Laurie Jayne, Macon, and Macy. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she attended until she became home bound.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. "Booty" Jackson; son, Dean Jackson; father, Ernest R. Hoskins; mother, Georgia Wooten Hoskins.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Jackson of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Tarah Howell Patrick (Will) and Krissy Howell Williams; sister, Jeanine Nolting; great grandchildren, Macon Patrick, Macy Patrick, Madison Williams, Jaxson Williams, and Laurie Jayne Williams.

Pallbearers will be Will Patrick, Clint Hedgepeth, Jaxson Williams, Keith Turpin, Dr. Greg Howell, and Ryan Patrick.
