Obituary

Ms. Joyce “Gail” Twiner, 74, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away on August 6, 2026, surrounded by her family. Gail was born to A.J. and Maxine Cloy Twiner on June 19, 1952 in Meadville, Mississippi.

The family will receive visitors at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9 o’clock in the morning until funeral services begin at 10 o’clock in the funeral home’s chapel. Graveside services will follow in the Bunkley Baptist Church Cemetery, Meadville, Mississippi.

Ms. Gail was a “people person;” she never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone that she did meet. She was a hard worker who loved the outdoors, especially gardening, and put time and effort into growing beautiful flowers. Gail believed in keeping a clean house and taught her children to do the same. Most of all, she shared her love with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by each one of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Twiner; and two sisters, Jannette Dykes and Charlotte Chance.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sonya King (Kevin) and Shanna Wilson (Jeff); her grandchildren, Logan King (Stephanie), Tori King, Savanna Whittington (Tucker), Makenzie Morgan (Savanna), Summer Mulkey, Kyle Morgan (Shelby), Hunter Wilson (Rachel), Sarabeth Smith (Taylor), Sophie Burris (Austin), and Hillary Moore (Blake); great-grandchildren, Kali Herring, Conner Rakes, Emma Rakes, Zoey King, Lilli Morgan, Everett Whittington, Emmett Whittington, Jaxon Green, Oliver Morgan, Rhett and Loretta Wilson, and Tinsley Smith; and one great-great grandchild, Kasen Ferrell. Ms. Gail also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Joe Bowman and Patricia Griffin (Terry), along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Arden Hospice and Trend Health and Rehab, with a special thanks for Carlie Jo at Arden, and Skila and Shadena at Trend.
