Obituary

Graveside services for Johnie Lee Pennington will be on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS, at 1:00. Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pennington, 91, of Lorena, TX, formerly of Brookhaven, MS passed from this life on April 1, 2022, at Hillcrest In-House Hospice in Waco, TX.  He was born on October 27, 1930, in Lincoln County, MS, to James Ray Pennington and Jessie Maude James Pennington. He married the love of his life Pearl Asalee Rodgers on August 10, 1956 in Midland, TX.  They settled there as a family where they raised their son Robert Loyd Pennington. in He worked for many years in the oilfield industry and later on he became the owner of Johnie's Hot Oil Service. Mr. Pennington enjoyed gardening and yardwork. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents James and Jessie Pennington; wife of 47 years Pearl Aslee Pennington; grandson Matthew Powell; sisters Ella Mae Roberts and Vera Maude Lambert.

Survivors are his son Robert Loyd Pennington (Machelle); brother James Salter; grandchildren, Johnny Lee Pennington (Tonya) and Lacy Powell; great-grandchildren, Dylan Kindred, Avery Kindred, Levi Kindred, Frayja McConnell and Jaxon Lee Pennington; and a host of family and friends.
