Funeral services for Mr. John Paul Nations will be held at Fair River Baptist Church at 2:00 in the afternoon on Monday, January 6 with graveside services following in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nations, 87, of Brookhaven, Mississippi departed this life on January 2, 2025. He was born as the youngest of four children to Versie and Iva Nations on June 11, 1937, in the Fair River Community where he lived his entire life.

He is preceded in death by his brother VC Nations; two sisters, Iva Nell Foster and Annalo Wallace; a sister-in-law Amarylis Nations; brothers-in-law, Ed Foster and Malcolm Wallace; and his two nephews, Dean Foster and Dr. Mickey Wallace.

Survivors include his wife of 64 ½ years, Rinda Sue Haley Nations; his two children, Joel Nations and Paula Yancey; a son-in-law, Jim Yancey; a daughter-in-law, Neely Nations; six grandchildren, Landon Stennett and wife April, Brian Yancey and wife Paige, Beaux Yancey and wife Lindsey, Haley Nations, Lynsey Nations, and Paul Nations. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, Michelle Bass; and two nephews, Freddy and Timmy Nations.
