Funeral services for John Thomas Myers will be on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Wesson Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Hamilton and Bro. Eugene Hamilton will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.
Mr. Myers, 92, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 28, 1927, in Lawrence County, MS, to J. D. and Pauline Rodgers Myers. He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Pelahatchie, MS; served his country in the US Army in World War II; retired as an Army National Guard recruiter; was a member of the J. M. Wesson Lodge #317 Masonic Lodge; and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Randy Thomas Myers; and siblings, Bob Myers, Ann Myers Lee, and Alberta Myers.
Survivors are his wife, Faye Thornhill Myers; children, Thomas Jerry Myers and wife Tina of Wesson, MS, Evie Myers Allen of Monticello, MS, James Hamilton of Moss Point, MS, Bro. Jerry Hamilton and wife Ann of Rockport, MS, Bro. Eugene Hamilton and wife Anita of Lucedale, MS; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Gary Myers, Josh Allen, Adam Neal, Hunter Neal, Jacob Jackson and Gavin Norton. Honorary pallbearers are Jericho Hamilton, Eric Trigg, Shannon Nevels, and Coby Anding.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Ministries, Dr. Fred McDonald and staff, and the William Oliver Chapter #176 of the Eastern Star of Wesson, MS.
