Mr. Howard, a life-long resident of Bogue Chitto, passed from this life on July 31, 2023 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS surrounded by close family and friends, after a four-month battle with cancer.  He was born in Brookhaven, MS on January 30, 1964 to Loyce Lavoid Howard, Sr., and Erma Nell Wallace Howard.

Wesley was a life-long member at Montgomery Baptist Church, but attended services with his family at Adams united Methodist Church.  Wesley is the fifth of six siblings who attended Bogue Chitto High School.  Later in life, he attended Southwest Mississippi Community College, and received an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology.  An avid outdoorsman, Wesley loved hunting and anything that kept him busy!  His first job was at Winn Dixie while still in high school, then moving on to Estes Glass.  Working and learning were part of who Wesley was and, through jobs at Caverham, Weyerhauser, J P Oil/ Georgia Pacific, and the last sixteen years employed as an Electrician/ SAEP Advisor 3 at Shell, Inc., he proved to be extremely hard-working and used his "quick wit" to make everyone feel like family.

Even through his joking, he would try to help you learn how to be better.  A quote from a life-long friend and former co-worker goes like this, "Wesley would give you the shirt off his back, but not before giving you a hard time!"  Quite the jokester, he had the biggest heart and love for his high school sweetheart, Dana, and their children, Daniel and Kelli.  He took great pride in his children and coached them in baseball and softball.  "Mr." Wesley helped several kids learn basic fundamentals and life lessons.  Almost 9 years ago the next generation of his family began, and Ava Kate Lofton was born and then Aubree, and Addie soon followed.  His favorite title was "Pop", and he looked to these beautiful girls as "his heart and reason to fight cancer".  Wesley was fond of his son-in-law, Will, who stayed by his side in this fight, and his in-laws, Danny Ray and Joyce, were so special to him because he loved them dearly, and those feelings were definitely reciprocated.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Anthony Howard; and a nephew, Todd Anthony Howard.

Wesley is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dana Kaye Allred Howard; a son, Daniel Lee Howard; a daughter, Kelli Michelle Lofton (Will); 3 granddaughters, Ava Kate, Aubree Grace, and Addie Rae Lofton; 3 brothers, Lavoid Howard, Doyle Howard (Lynn), and Charlie Howard; one sister, Becky Howard Flowers (David); his father and mother-in-law, Danny Ray and Joyce Allred; eleven nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, co-workers, and life-long friends.  Wesley also leaves behind his partner-in-crime, Aussi Doodle Mahlee and a Pomeranian name Jax!
