Funeral services for John Duncan Buie will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Caseyville, MS. Bro. Terry Wallace will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Monday, November 14, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
Mr. Buie, 54, passed from this life unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at his residence in the Caseyville Community. He was born on December 19, 1961, in Brookhaven, MS, to Elmer and Ruby Morris Buie. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church; served in the MS National Guard; and worked as a welder at American Railcar in Bude, MS, and as a self-employed logger for more than 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, and was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
Survivors are his wife of 14 years, Rhonda Buie; sons, John Courtney Buie and wife Jordan and children: Rose and Kate; Christopher Buie and wife Courtney and daughter: Castiel; David "Deke" Purdy and wife Tanya and children: Ryan, Ryleigh, Ryles, and Ryker; and Jacob Purdy and wife Caroline and children: Matthew and Carson; daughters, Ashlie Waldrop and husband Arron and children: Kayleigh, Shaw, and Harlie; Sarah Walker and fiancé Andrew Rushing and daughter: Lynlee; parents, Elmer Lee and Ruby Morris Buie; brothers, Lee Buie and wife Rebecca, and Daniel Buie and wife Sallie; sister, Beverly Buie Jones and husband Bill; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Charles Walker, Dale Stephens, Glen Adams, James "Puttin" Smith, Ed Reid, and Ricky Ratcliff.
