Funeral services for Mr. John L. Bridges, Sr. will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at King Football Field in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Mission Hill Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Bro. Jamie Wallace and Bro. Bascom Sills will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Monday, December 28, 2020, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Bridges, 73, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS.  He was born on April 9, 1947, in Brookhaven, MS, to Barry F. Bridges and Mary Maude Mullins Bridges. He worked for many years building lawn mowers and chain saws; and he enjoyed playing pool, handling the chains at the high school football games and parking the school bus.  He was a long-time volunteer for the athletic department at Brookhaven High School. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Pam Bridges; sister, Barbara Hux; brother, Charlie Bridges; and niece, Theresa Ann Norris.

Survivors are his sons, John L. Bridges, Jr. (Lynn) and Kendall Bridges (Connie); daughter, Lachelle Bridges; sister, Betty Womack (Carey); grandchildren, Natalie Smith (Ben), Miranda Matlock, Tiffany Bright (Wesley), Brittany Bessonette, Becky Tibbs, Bell Bridges, and Andrew Ellington;  great-grandchildren, Bentlie Smith, Emerlie Smith, Melvonna Bessonette, Baby Sanders (due in June), Corbin Tibbs, Brookleigh Ball, and Keagen Groover; and a host of family and friends.
