Funeral services for Jimmy Lee Smith will be on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home in Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Red Star Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. President Jerry Britt will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will also be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, September 10, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Smith, 70, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 7, 1948 in Brookhaven, MS, to James Leroy and Mildred Kimble Smith. Mr. Smith retired as a salesman with Lance, Inc., after 31 years, after which he retired from the Mississippi Juvenile Detention Center. He served as a memberof the US Army Reserves. He was a man of faith who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, J. Glen Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Connie Allen Smith; daughters, Selena Smith Hesson and husband Burke from Sachse, TX, Ky Smith of Brookhaven, MS, and Jeannie Smith and husband Tony of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Hannah Smith Cupit and husband Paxton, Dylan Smith, Allie Smith, Tessa Smith, Taylor Jolley and wife Caitlyn, Hartley Hesson, and Meredith Hesson; sister-in-law, Mattie Smith Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Alice Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
