Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lynn Goodson will be on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 2 PM, with burial to follow in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Bro. Eric Moak will be officiating the services, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2016, from 5 PM until 9 PM and continue on Tuesday, May 17, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 pm.
Mr. Goodson, 79, passed from this life on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at his residence in Union Church, MS, with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 2, 1937, in Franklin County, MS, to Leon and Myrtle Ruth Sullivan Goodson. He enjoyed raising cattle, riding horses, and conversing with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents and step-mother, Algie Goodson.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Shirley Martin Goodson; son, Ronnie Lynn Goodson of Byram, MS; daughters, Dewanna Williamson and husband Ike of Meadville, MS and Cindy Jones and husband John of Florence, MS; sisters, Barbara Freeman of McNair, MS, and Nina Granger and husband Marlin of Brookhaven, MS; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
