Funeral services for Mrs. Jeannette Bales Whiddon will be on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Floyd Higgenbotham will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) on Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Friday morning, April 14, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Mrs. Whiddon, 58, of Greenwood, LA, passed from this life on Monday, April 10, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 23, 1959 in Brookhaven, MS, to Julius P. Bales and Leona Virginia Phipps Bales. She enjoyed cross stitching and any needlework. She was a loving wife and best friend for 41 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Walter Phipps and David Allen Bales.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Sammy Earl Whiddon, Sr; daughter, Angela Kay Waldrop and husband Timothy; son, Sammy Earl Whiddon, Jr. and wife Megan Sikes Whiddon; grandchildren, Jessica Denise Waldrop, Alexandra Lane Waldrop, Caitlyn Leala Whiddon, Avery Rosaleen Whiddon; and a host of family and friends.
