Jean B. Lofton

May 30, 1923 – April 18, 2021

After several years of failing health, Jean Baker Lofton died at the home of her son in Norfield, Mississippi on April 18, 2021, just six weeks before her 98 ^th birthday.  She was born on May 30, 1923, in Doon, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Ida Baker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Edward Robert Lofton, in 1996, and her son-in-law, David E. DeBlanc.

Mrs. Lofton is survived by her son, Gary H. Lofton, and wife Martha of Norfield, and her daughter, Gail Lofton DeBlanc of Slaughter, Louisiana.  She is also survived by six grandchildren-- Kimberly D. Brown, Kristie D. Daley (John), Shane Lofton (Tanya), Bryson Lofton, Dan Lofton, and Amber Lofton Moyers (Colin)-- and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek, Mississippi, where she will be interred next to her husband.

Honoring her by serving as pall bearers will be Shane Lofton, Bryson Lofton, Dan Lofton, Colin Moyers, Ken Lofton, and Ricky Porter.
