Obituary

Funeral services for Janie Pearl Reed will be on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Garland Boyd, Bro. James Hunsucker and Bro. Sammy Holcomb will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Macedonia Baptist Church on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Reed, 82, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS, with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 30, 1935, in Lincoln County, MS, to Solon Palmer and Johnnie Lois Falvey Entrican. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and loved her church family. She loved serving her Lord by sending cards to the shut-ins, cooking for the sick and shut-in, and was a Godly example to her family; was a homemaker, and a loyal Christian wife and mother; and enjoyed gardening, cooking, flowers, reading her Bible, and spending time with family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Billy Reed; son, Steven Ray Reed; sister, Annie Ruth Entrican; and granddaughter, Crystal Gayle Smith Wallace.

Survivors are her sons, Bill Reed of Brookhaven, MS, and Lester Reed and wife Kim of Brookhaven, MS; daughters, Kay Reed Allred and husband Ronny of Brookhaven, MS, Fay Reed Mahaffey and husband Dicky of Sontag, MS, and Jeanne Pearl Reed Hunsucker and husband James of Brookhaven, MS; brother, Isaac "Doc" Entrican; sisters, Rosie Entrican Britt, and Elaine Durr; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Jamie Allred, Steven Reed, Josh Reed, Andy Mahaffey, Shane Reed, Jake Hawley, Matthew Smith and Justin Case.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of University Medical Center and Kings Daughter's Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Reed's name may be made to Heritage Hills Orphan Ministry or Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
