Funeral services for James A. Steuerwald will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Bro. Stuart Purvis will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church on Sunday, January 6, 2018, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Steuerwald, 82, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Haven Hall Health Care Center in Brookhaven, MS. He was born on November 16, 1936, in Indianapolis, IN, to Merlin and Mary Ruth Steuerwald. He served his country in the U.S. Army; was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church; and enjoyed Round-Dancing and helping other people. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his children, Jimmy Steuerwald and wife Jennifer of Sachse, TX, and Julia Martin and husband Jimmy of Bogue Chitto, MS,; grandchildren, Bridget Martin, Michael Steuerwald, and Lauren Steuerwald; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Martin, Buck Martin, James Wash, Caleb Bonds, Kory White, and Freddie Leonard.
