Funeral services for James Dudley Keene will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Greg Warnock and Bro. Steve Wooten will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Keene, 82, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 21, 1935 in Brookhaven, MS, to Willie Eugene Keene and Nonee Rushing Keene. Mr. Keene was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven, MS. He was retired as a directional driller primarily with Eastman Whipstock. He enjoyed John Deere tractor restoration and gardening and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Gene and Nonee Keene; brother, Larry Keene.

Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Sylvia Huff Keene; son, Marcus Dudley Keene; daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Proctor and husband Cam; granddaughters, Laura Proctor, Mary Alice Proctor and Sylvia Proctor; brother Donald Keene and wife Hannah and Martin Keene and wife Debbie; sister Diane Harris; and a host of family and friends.
