Funeral services for Mr. James William Bowlin will be on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 3:00 PM with burial to follow in the Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Bro. Jess Greer and Bro. Edwin Johnson will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on the same day from from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 3:00 PM.

Mr. Bowlin, 79, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on August 23, 1937 in Lincoln County, MS, to Jim H. and Lena Mae Richardson Bowlin. He was with the Mississippi Army National Guard out of Brookhaven, MS for 10 years and reached the rank of Sargent. Mr. Bowlin was a member of Moak's Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, especially concerning medicine, and everything to do with aviation. He also was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brother, Freddie Creel of Hammond, LA; sister, Sharon Ann Turner and husband Jack of Deming, NM; nephews, Mike Turner and Ray Turner; niece, Misty Larson; C. L. Richardson and family; and a host of friends.
