Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Huey P. Hart will be on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wesson, MS at 1 PM with burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Jerry Sullivan will be officiating the services, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM and at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 12 PM until time of the service at 1 PM.

Mr. Hart, 79, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at his residence in Brookhaven, MS, with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 14, 1936 in Bogue Chitto, MS, to Alton and Edith Cannon Hart. He enjoyed gardening and working with his cattle and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Belinda Kay Hart; brothers, Wendell Hart and Lloyd Hart; and niece, Reginna Hart.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Smith Hart; sons, Stephon Hart and Doyle Hart, both of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Alton Hart, Dustin Hart, and Maranda Hart; brother, Roger Hart and wife Wanzie of Bogue Chitto, MS; sisters, Syble Lang and husband Roger of McComb, MS, Christine Smith of Plano, TX, Janis Landress of Flowood, MS, and Francis Davis of Madison, MS; sister-in-law, Hoytense Ricks and husband Bill of Brookhaven, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
