Funeral services for Mr. Horace Hoyt Smith will be on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Garland Boyd will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will also be at the same location on the same day from 1:00 PM until time of the service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Smith, 95, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, July 31, 2020, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS.  He was born on May 27, 1925, in Brookhaven, MS, to Granberry Smith and Eula Smith Smith. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church; worked for many years as a dairy farmer; and enjoyed coaching baseball. Mr. Hoyt was a veteran of WWII. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and wife, Dorothy Jean Britt Smith; and grandson Brandon Purvis Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Wayne J. Smith and wife Debbie of Brookhaven, MS and Mitchell Purvis Smith; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Dewey P. Smith and a host of family and friends.
