Private graveside services for Mrs. Helen V. Smith Carter will be on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Carter, 88, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, October 23, 2020, in Brookhaven, MS.  She was born on December 18, 1931, in Brookhaven, MS, to Woody H. Smith and Lois Townsend Smith. She attended Jackson Street United Methodist Church and worked for many years as a self-employed cosmetologist. Mrs. Carter enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and visiting with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents Woody and Lois Smith; husband, A. J. "Pete" Smith, Jr.; son, Timothy Wayne Smith; brothers, Charles W. Smith Sr. and Jesse W. Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Charles "Chuck" Carter; son, William Darrell Smith and wife Donna of McComb, MS; daughter Cathy R. Waldron of Madison, MS; grandchildren, Dr. W. Corey Smith, Lindsey Waldron and Kristi Waldron; brothers John H. Smith (Patsy) and Ralph H. Smith (Aby); and a host of  friends.
